The
Putnam County Sheriff's Office invites you to apply for a challenging,
fast paced, rewarding career as a Public Safety Communications Officer
(9-1-1 Dispatcher). Communications Officers answer, prioritize, and
dispatch emergency and routine calls for law enforcement, fire, and
medical services, operate computer aided dispatch (CAD) systems,
utilize two-way radio systems, and operate a variety of data and
mapping systems.
Applicants must be able to multi-task, react quickly, efficiently and calmly in emergency and routine situations.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and/or holidays.
- Applicants must have a valid Florida driver's license (see application for all disqualifiers).
- Have a high school diploma or acceptable GED.
- Social security card
- Birth certificate or acceptable naturalization documentation.
- Applicants
may be required to pass a typing test of 25 wpm and may also be
required to pass a communications computer based skills exam.
Potential hires will be required to:
- Pass an extensive background investigation
- Pass a CVSA (Computerized Voice Stress Analysis)
- Pass a physical examination and drug screening
