Lt. Sheryl Daley has worked for the Putnam County Sheriff's Office for seven years. She came to the Sheriff's Office in September of 2000 as a Patrol Deputy. While working as a Patrol Deputy, she was chosen to become a Field Training Officer in December 2001 and helped in training numerous deputies. In 2005, Daley left the Patrol Division after being selected to the position of Sex Crimes Investigator, within the Detective Division. Shortly thereafter in 2005, Sheriff Dean Kelly promoted Daley to the rank of Lieutenant, as the Director of Personnel and Internal Affairs.

Daley is responsible for processing job applications for every position within the Sheriff's Office. She attends numerous job fairs and Law Enforcement academy's seeking qualified personnel to represent you at "Your Sheriff's Office". One of the most important duties she performs, but certainly the least popular, is that of being the agency's Internal Affairs Investigator. Any citizen complaint that can't be resolved at the supervisory level is assigned to Daley to conduct an in-depth investigation to determine if any agency policies and procedures have been violated. 

In addition to her primary duties, Daley has been a member of the Crisis Intervention Team and the Rifle Security Team.  She is currently a certified driving instructor and assists in instructing the members of the agency during annual training. Daley is a graduate of the University of Southern Maine, where she attended from September 1983 until May 1987, earning her Bachelor's Degree in Criminology. In addition, she has attended and successfully completed many hours of training in Law Enforcement including, but not limited to: Officer Survival, Interviews and Interrogations, and Sex Crimes Investigations.
 
Prior to entering the Law Enforcement profession, Daley was employed with the Department of Children and Families as an Investigator. Her experience in this position has benefited her in dealing with a variety of situations she has been involved in as a Law Enforcement Officer.
