New Offender Watch Program Initiated

On Thursday (3/27/2008), the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office
launched a new program called
Offender Watch.

This provides “Easy to Use” Internet Access
to See Where Sexual Offenders and Sexual Predators Live.
By clicking on the “Sex Offender Email Notification System” link,
located on the right side panel, citizens can now simply type in any
Putnam County address to see where registered
Offenders and Predators live within a one-half mile radius
of any address they select.
A map showing a 1-mile diameter circle will appear
designating the residential location of each offender/predator.
Citizens can match the number of the offender within the circle
with a name and address. If a citizen wants more information,
they can simply click on the individual’s name and get
the information as provided by the
Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
Users can also search larger geographic regions of Putnam County.
